The driveway filled with extra cars on Saturday afternoon. We had friends over for an ice skating time followed by delicious homemade pizza and Catch-Phrase.

We split into teams and slapped the hockey puck around.

My friend 'Lysa has been looking forward to her sister Haddie coming home from Papua New Guenea. We've been talking for awhile about getting together and having fun. This past Saturday afternoon turned out to be the time. The Girard family has nine children about the same ages as ours. We have had so much fun getting to know Jael, Ulysa and now Haddie. Hopefully this summer we will get to meet the parents too.

Poor Kid

With the Midland Michigan temperatures dropping to -14 F, it can be a challenging time for "Dr Goat."

This morning he went out and found our one little kid out on the ground.

Poor thing was so cold that when Brian immersed its little body into a bucket of warm water, the water quickly got cold.

After being dunked in warm water for awhile, Brian and Libby applied the hair dryer and rubbed his body with towels.

Then I took a turn with a milk syringe and honey. I think he swallowed about 2 ounces of his bottle. Mostly it just dribbled out the sides of his mouth.

After a couple of hours, he was exhausted, I was tired, and Brian, Libby and I all had to go to school. I put him in a box of towels by the kitchen heater. I asked Mom to try giving him some more of his bottle around noon or so.

When we got home from school he was sitting up with Mom and Lauren.
They were feeding him his bottle.
I think Dr. Goat got to him just in time.
