Grumpy

For those of you who never see that my baby can be grumpy.

His disturbance seemed to be the fact that I was not giving him 100% attention and tried to pacify him with cheerios.

New project

I'm trying a new toy for "my shop." An octopus in the rough...

I'll let you know how it turns out, once its done.

8 months

 

The 8  month photo shoot was very difficult. Abel was so interested in the paper he wouldn't pay attention to anything else. You can notice how the puppy's ear is flying because Abel just shoved it out of the way to reach the paper I hid from him.

So for now just know that his face looks adorable, handsome, and slightly mischievous.

A recent fun moment was when I noticed him trying to pick up a potato chip crumb from the floor. He was very intently trying to squeeze the little piece in the palm of his hand. I assured him that if he could get it to his mouth he was welcome to eat it. I then watched as he eventually concluded the best strategy was just to lick it off the floor! That didn't work either because it stuck tighter to the floor and then I decided to put an end to his afternoon snack adventure.

Abel loves to be outside. 

Several weekends ago Uncle Brian stopped by to dig out some crocks we found buried outside my kitchen window! 

Abel took a turn in the drivers seat while Josh and Dad worked with hand shovels.

Most times Abel looks just like his Dad, the other day I captured the two of us making look-a-like faces!

Outside

Abel likes to go outside. Its been getting cold and he was mad at me for putting on his snow suit, but once we went outside, he was happy. I bundled him up and put him inside my jacket in the front pouch. His little cheeks are pink from being warm when we came back inside.

"My" Shop

Abel and I dropped off some of my recent creations this week at this shop downtown. I am one of about 50 Michigan vendors that they feature in this shop on main street.

Enchilada Sauce

This week I was able to make some enchilada sauce.

Abel thought I should devote my attention to him so between hot water tasks I held him up to see the progress

Its nice to have a small family. Nine pints should last me pretty well till next year.

New Venture

Today I try something new. I'm going to be a vendor at a downtown shop. I hope that I make money...my history of selling my goods is not too great, but this shop has looked busy every time I've gone. One of the rules for vendors is that they must post on social media at least twice a week, so blog followers, be prepared!

Abel got to meet his Great Aunt Carolyn this week. They read some books together. He likes to read stories and even used his feet to try to read this time.

Abel is very accustomed to time with Aunt Libby. This was his face Sunday. 

I think it was when I told him Aunt Libby was gone for a week.

I don't, but this is the photo that is occupying it for the last couple of day.

Abel loves to go outside, and when I put a hat on him he gets excited because he knows we are going outside!

Yesterday evening Josh's work families were treated to a Loon's baseball game together. Not only was Abel the hit with the wives, but Lou E. asked to hold him too! Abel seemed to enjoy the outdoor event and even "caught" his first baseball. (It was actually his Dad that got it for him.) 

We had a fun evening and the Loons won!

Josh and his Grandpa have been good buddies. Now Abel is named after his great-grandpa and it looks like they are becoming good buddies too!

Last Sunday we got the most BEAUTIFUL gift ever! Our son arrived safely at 8:24pm.

Finished

We finished our baby classes just in time!

We completed them Tuesday night and last night we ended up going to the hospital for awhile. They eventually let us go since we are still pre-term by a few days. I was in labor but they decided rather than keep me at the hospital for monitoring....I should go home and try to rest. So we both had the day off work together and tried to sleep to recover the hours we lost between midnight and 10am.

Baby Shopping

When I was a little kid I remember going shopping with Mom and picking a special outfit for the expected baby to wear home from the hospital. This week, Mom and I went shopping to find an outfit for my baby to wear home. We found this sweet little outfit with a fuzzy vest. I think it should be good for April. As long as the baby is between 5-8 pounds the tag says this will fit.

 

 

Josh is a little concerned about the color white, but I told him not to worry the baby will probably only fit in the outfit for a week anyway!

Maple syurp

We don't have maple trees, but my siblings gave Josh some of their sap they had collected. He had a wonderful time boiling it down into maple syrup.

Brian does not like his kitchen chandelier. 

So it's for sale. I gave him my old one so I think if I can sell his then I should get a commission right?

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Aunt Lauren-Mae made this super cute baby set for our little boy at Christmas. Isn't it great! I wanted to decorate the baby room with this theme, but Josh says no bugs on a wall he has just spent that much time building!
