Amazing

Michigan summer equals wearing jackets and going barefoot at Lake Huron.

Aunt Amy taught Abel a new word. Now instead of calling the lake a bath, if you ask him about his visit to the lake and the big wave he says 'Mazing.

Harbor Freight

Abel enjoys "reading" newspapers and catalogs. He often exclaims "Oh wow" as he flips through the pages of Harbor Freight. Grandpa shared his most recent Harbor Freight catalog with Abel and we took it on a car trip. He studied it for about half an hour before loosing interest. He also likes flower catalogs, seed catalogs, farming newsletters and has been known to pretend read one of those great big inserts that comes from the pharmacy! Silly little guy even goes "E-E- E," asking me to read the shampoo bottle labels to him.

A is for Abel

The downtown RIVERDAYS celebration had these huge letters set up in the lawn.

Abel had fun playing hide and seek peek a boo with these huge interactive letters.

Baby Mechanic

Abel really likes to see how things work. Saturday I caught him under his little toy looking a lot like his Uncles in the shop.

We had a party at our house. Behind this voting booth is the hidden cake.

After people viewed some ultrasound images, they placed their vote in the slot and then...

Dad Gym

Abel's first word when he wakes up is usually Dada. Followed by looking around the house to see if he can find him.

Abel is a Dada boy

He often sings himself to sleep and the last stanza is Da da da.

Helper Boy

Abel comes as fast as he can when he hears the dishwasher open.

He usually picks out spatulas and then proceeds to other dishes as time permits.

Abel's Birthday

Abel's cake was inspired by one of his favorite board books "Little Blue Truck."

I found out that it is really fun to drive in frosting!

Babies

Abel was very excited to meet the new baby goats. Actually he really seemed to enjoy the barn the most but he cooed and wanted to snuggle this cute little baby goat.

 

Reader

Abel enjoys reading books.

His favorites usually have something he can touch. (fluffy chick feathers)

He also has begun to like books that I read while adding tractor/truck motor noises.

10 months

This busy boy is into everything. He has learned how to open cupboard doors, creep around furniture, climb into laundry baskets, etc. 

Its hard to hide paper from him!

He is not afraid to share his opinions either.
