Tough Little Sister Moment

 

Hunting success!

 Kathryn was very cute and wanted to be right out with the boys for the experience. This is actually the first buck Josh has gotten with a bow! (Picture from last week) Today he got another one with his rifle...but that's pretty normal for him.

Dress up!

We dressed up in fancy clothes, and celebrated Logan and Emma Cook!

 

Kathryn's dress and the boys ties were made by Grandma Donut from Aunt Elisa's old prom dress.

Busy builder

 Cyrus spent a long time building with these SET dice cubes.

Captain Abel

 Our friends invited us for a boat ride down the Kawkawlin River. Abel even got to steer and blow the horn. It was a fantastic evening and we felt so blessed.

Dainty

 Kathryn likes peppers fresh from the garden. But she likes me to bite off the end then she daintily picks out the seeds and eats them.

Lighthouse at Big Sable

 It was a 2 mile trek out, 113 steps up, and a longer hike back through the dunes and woods...and it was all worth it.

Clearly I need more practice with selfies. The lighthouse was magnificent and Kim and I had a lovely hike despite our non-hiking foot wear.

Pumpkin pickers

 We invited a friend from church to come pick pumpkins at Grandpa Cook's farm. What fun we had. 

Farmer's Market

 Abel always wants a treat from the kettle corn/slushie stand. This Saturday it was apple cider slushie time.

Camping

 Josh went on a fishing trip last week and we camped in the backyard a couple of nights. The children loved it!

I scream

 Cyrus is a real treat to eat with! He makes every meal and snack into an adventure! Ice cream with the Aunts was about more than any adult onlooker could tolerate! This cutie decided to eat the "pancake" first and ended up losing the top end of his ice cream in a magnificent crash! We convinced him to leave it on the ground...but hardly. Here he is polishing off the reject of Abel's cone and the chocolate bits from Aunt Amy's empty chocolate covered pretzel bin. 

Note the ice cream on the end of his eyelashes! Pure talent this kid was born with.

Picnic table!

 We tried out our new picnic table with a snack of oyster crackers.

First Birthday!

One of Josh's favorite things to celebrate is a great first Birthday.  Our little girl was the perfect actress and her Dad was not a bit disappointed in her smash cake event.

It was really fun to watch her look at him with her eyes saying, "I know this was your idea Dad!"
