Purse

My co-worker and her daughter sorted through "Grandma's yarn." Now I have a whole bag of yarn to make into gifts for a little girl.

Lillian turns 5 on Tuesday. Here is a little purse I'm sending for the occasion.

Hand Quilting

Lauren and I are making a quilt for a friend. Shhh. It's a surprise.

Lauren has never hand quilted before, and I rarely do. It is too detailed for us. But I figure that it is a good discipline so I make myself do it every couple of years. So here we are, working away.

Ice Skating

On Sunday I spotted a HUGE ice rink in a neighbor farmer's field. Too bad it is a wheat field.

On Monday I called and asked permission to skate on the rink.

On Tuesday we went over.

We played some hockey

Switching foot wear

We played tag, a little hockey, a new game and I tried to learn a couple of tricks.

I had printed out directions from the internet for some easy tricks. I read the instructions and tried, but I mostly ended up with splendid falls.

Next time I need some pictures to learn from.

I hope the wheat is good, because the ice wasn't. There was a lot of it, but it was too weak. O well. You never know unless you try.

No Way!

The mail lady came today with packages. One was from Zambia to me. No way! Julie said it was too expensive to send any packages but look what I got!
Although the letter said Do NOT open until February 14, the package was not earmarked. So although Mom tried to convince me that I shouldn't open it yet, I did.

My Valentine sweetheart sent me:
a valentine note
chocolate
a chetenje (sp?)
and it was all wrapped up inside a sugar bag!
Gotta love it.

Love Love Love. What a sweet sister.

Too bad we can't be together on Valentine's day, but we can wear chetenjes together, ok?

Package

I've been collecting stuff for a Julie package.
The package weighs less than 4 pounds is under 24" wide-height and 36" long-deep.

I hope the post office agrees with my measurements.

it contains:

3 t-shirts
2 skirts
2 candy bars
M and Ms
Jolly Rancher candies
6 head bands
19 photos
12 window clings
1 USB memory stick
8 flower packets

I figured I might as well decorate the box a bit.
I hope it makes it.
