Dow Gardens

I don't know if theses will work or not? They're from my cell phone.

What did you do today?

I used my cellphone to take pictures. I'm not sure how it decides where to focus? But it did a good job.

I finished this elephant pack
Our shopping trip was turned into a butterfly visit. I think we saved a lot of money.
;)

I tried to complain about the threat bill I received.
Too bad they didn't answer the phone. But I have my ideas ready.
I ate almost an entire package of these today!

I finished tying off a quilt made from Grandma's flannel.

I finished watching Season 1 of "Lucy."

I sewed some pockets together to make a bike pouch.
Plus
Quoted Salmo 8 from memory,
Listened to part of George Mueller's "Answer to Prayers."
Attended Spanish class
And maybe a few other things.
I like days off.
I like my life.

Inspiration

This is what inspiration in the middle of the night led me to do.

It doesn't look as good in the day as it did in the night.

I printed out the big letters, and some enlarged (fuzzy:) musical notes as my pattern pieces

It was all done when I first saw it in the middle of the night.
Now to get it there during the day.

History Lessons

Please tell us Sodom of your story;
did you feel a life of glory.
All you earned was God's true wrath.
So show us please the long worn path.

Did you kill your children in the womb;
then throw their bodies in metal tomns (sic).
Did you still their hearts their voice;
their right to live from others' choice.

Did man loving man have more right;
than man loving God, living in light.
Do you see clearly the error of ways;
that caused your destruction, ended your days.

Did you teach your children to kill and to hate;
did the violence you wreeked (sic) seal your fate.
Did you teach your children indifference shown;
to love only those who you call your own.

Please oh please for mankind's sake;
tell us before the hour is late.
There were no rainbows to promise no more;
the signs are upon us, we know what's in store.

by Jane M. Schultz

The lady who wrote this poem came to our Perspectives class several weeks ago. She recited some of her poetry and gave us copies of her favorite pieces. This is one of a set that sobered me and continues to challenge me.
What am I doing, praying, and saying that will help to defend the unborn children?

Happy Youth Day!

Julie informed us that today is a holiday. I've never celebrated Youth Day before, but figured today would be a good day to participate in the festivities. I'm not really sure what you are supposed to do. But I have the day off from work and had to go to town this morning.

BTW those Kosher Dill chips were really yummy.

So I picked up party items. For lunch we celebrated with hot dogs, dill chips, BBQ chips, CheezIts, and a skype conversation with JULIE!!!! It was the best ever connection. We got to see her, talk to her, and she even showed us her peanut butter cookies fresh from the oven.

two of my favorite things Julie and CheezIts

BINGO

Years ago Mom started teaching us Spanish. This was one of my sheets that I used to learn Spanish foods. This year I jumped back into Spanish class after a 5 year break. You might notice that it is hard to tell what is the Spanish spelling and what I thought was the English spelling. I really wasn't allowed to write the English word, so I couldn't ask Mom how to spell it, thus my original spelling. Ben Franklin and I would have gotten along really well. Too bad Mr. Webster won and we have to spell our words according to rules. I think Mr. Franklin and I had something going. Wouldn't you like to eat "surp" on top of your pancakes? Or how about going out for a "stak."

Bag lady

For some reason I've always had an attraction to bags. In the last couple of years I've begun to use that fascination for something constructive. I buy second hand bags to be used in missionary transportation.
Today's catch
good handle (must go up and down easily)

good wheels (must be sturdy and smooth)

good zipper (must be in excellent working order all the way around)
bonus! extra bag loop
I look forward to using this bag when I go to Africa. Stay tuned, you might see it again.

If...

If God can hang the stars on high,
Can paint the clouds that drift on by,
Can send the sun across the sky,
What can His power do through you?
