What's Up

Here are some of the things I did the other day.

                                                      Strawberries

Libby sorted and washed them

Naomi and I de-topped and cut the berries.

Laruen Mae did everything. Pick, clean, hull, package.
My brother got a good deal when he married her.

Isn't that about the niftiest thingy-ma-jig you've ever seen? It keeps ones hands from getting sticky and yicky.

Mom sugared and bagged up all of our berries.
She also hauled them all down to the freezer.

That's my design job. I love my Mac.

And this is how it turned out. Ready for action.

Naomi helped me make this little jumped for Kaelyn.

                                    BY THE WAY

(:  I just had one of the best smoothies I've ever had in my whole life.
Too bad I ate it all or I could share a picture with you. :)

Austin

Today I got to hold my very own nephew!
He seems to be trying to stretch his feet right out the toes of his outfit.

He was such a good baby this afternoon.

Here you can see him and hear some of his baby sounds

Fixing the fish tank

This week I was talking with my manager when all of the sudden I realized water was running somewhere around the corner. The only thing back there is a fish tank. I rushed around the corner to find that a resident had opened the doors of the cabinet, was holding a little tube and was "fixing" it. Water was pouring out from somewhere.

There was a red shut off valve so I shut that, which didn't seem to help. When I called the emergency fish tank man, he told me to "Never, ever shut that." Apparently it causes the tank to overflow. Oops. I quickly ran over and opened it all the way as he instructed. The floor is carpeted so I'm not sure how much water gushed out before the valve was opened back up. The fish-tank-man came out and fixed it all. When I left there were still some bath blankets there soaking up the excess fish water.

Home Alone

I do not like being home alone. Tonight is one of those nights I don't like. After cleaning up the dishes, counter tops, leftover food and dining room table I gave myself a reward.

Root beer float would have been good, but frozen yogurt floated in raspberry gingerale was what the counter and freezer had to offer.

Someday (if I ever grow up and have to live alone by myself) I think I will turn into a self-indulging blimp.

comforter

Although I can't attend Wednesday quilting (I work every Wednesday) I still like to participate. Today and yesterday I worked on making a comforter. It still needs to be tied off, but I hope someone will help set it up tomorrow. I know there are several people in our group who don't feel like they can sew very well, but I'm glad they come and I try to think of projects that they can help finish. I hope this will be one.

now I need to name it...

What do you say to that?

Yesterday I was giving a lady her pills. She doesn't like to swallow big pills so normally I crush the big ones and then mix them with the little ones in applesauce. I took a spoonful of the mixture and said, "Open your mouth, this is your medicine." She sealed her lips and and stuck up her nose at me. "You open your mouth." She sassed. So I opened my mouth and said "Aah." She did too and I shoved in the spoonful. Unhappily she worked it around in her mouth, swallowed and then gave a pit-tuey to the little aspirin pill. It bounced across the floor till I scooped it up and disposed of it.

The next bite she again would not open her mouth. "No," she told me through clenched teeth. "Why not." I asked. She looked at me with big, wide eyes, cocked her head and stated, "How do I know that you're not doing dope?" I couldn't help it, I just turned away, medicine in hand and laughed.
